Primal Scream has experimented with many sounds during their lengthy career – from Screamadelica’s acid house to Rolling Stones-esque blues on Give Out But Don't Give Up. However, their latest incarnation is probably their best yet. Primal Scream has gone pop.
For new track “Where The Light Gets In” the band has called in the services of Sky Ferreira and the results are brilliant. Slinky and shimmering – it’s three minutes of pop bliss.
Talking to with NME, Ferreira said; “The reason I like working with them is because there’s absolutely no pressure,” she explained. “It’s also just really cool talking to [Gillespie]! Jesus and Mary Chain [Gillespie’s former band] is one of my favourite bands ever, so at first I was a little nervous. It’s really nice to meet with someone and not be disappointed by it, to have them meet every expectation.”
“Where The Light Gets In” is taken from Primal Screams forthcoming LP Chaosmosis.
