Prompted by a desire to leave the cultural bubble of Halifax, Canada’s Harley Alexander was keen to branch out of the city’s DIY scene and head for new pastures new. Holing up in a cabin out in Quebec he recorded a new mini-album. Titled Harland, the album is released on 22 July via Sports Day Records.
Lifted from Harland, “Staring At Photographs” is a hazy and warm expression of nostalgia. It’s four minutes of gloriously meandering guitar-pop, a gentle hum on a really lovely day.
