Australia’s Cloves has shared her first new music in a year and it’s a searing exploration of the complexities of a relationship. Written in February alongside long-time collaborator Justin Parker (Banks, Bat For Lashes), “Better Now” is a stripped back production that’s beautiful in its rawness. The track articulates that heady cocktail of vulnerability and freedom you experience when you truly express yourself.
"I swear that I'm better now is written almost sarcastically, to move the conversation on" Cloves explains, adding "I had given up trying to talk about how I was feeling and instead started distancing myself. The lyrics touch on the internal conflict I was having about weighing up if a long term relationship was still working, the back and forth between obligation to someone and the desire to be alone.”
Cloves debut album is expected to be released in 2017. She’ll play the new Omeara London venue on Thursday 9 Feb 2017.
