The ‘80s was a decade that didn’t lack self-confidence so it’s apt that Copenhagen’s Molina has channelled that synth-heavy period on killer self-empowerment anthem “Salvation”. Signed to Kill J’s No3 Records, her debut EP Corpus will be released on 24 March.
The six track EP, which is inspired by artists as varied as Martin Dupont, Philip Glass, Kate Bush and Aphex Twin, is described by Molina as “a tribute to me and my own body, and what it can show me mentally and physically”.
“Salvation”, the first track to be lifted from the EP, is a banger with some serious depth – driven by a potent message and pounding drum machine. Discussing the track she explains, “For me it’s about letting go, enjoying the present and praising myself for who I am without having any disgrace.”
It’s a mightily impressive opening salvo from Molina and it’s crafted with laser-like precision.
Corpus is released on 24 March via No3 Records.
