Poté, who first grabbed our attention with his no nonsense remix of Lethal Bizzle’s “Playground”, has shared his new EP Over The Water. Speaking about the EP, Poté said: “My aim is to start painting a coherent picture with my sound, image and videos, using a host of different colours and influences.”
A producer with endless imagination, Poté weaves beats together to create these multifaceted sounds. Equally skilled as songwriter, the tracks are poetic with the words as equally important as the rhythms.
The EP opens with “Fall” and features guest vocals from Emma Foster from Arctic Lake. The track is about being cursed before birth. As Poté says: “The idea that if for you're born gay, black, disabled, poor, trans or even rich for example in some places, there's sometimes a painful, uncomfortable or even ugly pathway set for you to go through, throughout your life”. It’s a powerful track bursting with ideas, setting the tone for the rest of the EP.
