Silver Lake-Based songwriter Sharaya Summers returns with “Haunted”, the beautiful follow-up to her debut single “Light Of Moon”. “Haunted” is a gorgeous slice of lo-fi pop, a disarming take on the profound impact of those closest to us and the pursuit of a separate indemnity. Discussing the track, Sharaya said:
"his is a song about the complexities of others people' expectations for our lives. Family and lovers, not allowing us to change as we grow, and not embracing our darker sides as part of the whole package. Family history shaping us and affecting us in ways that we don't grapple with until we are older it starts coming back to haunt us in our adult lives and relationships. My heart is still Haunted.
It's a song about wanting to be known and loved for who I am, not what you think am or who I was yesterday."
Sharaya grew up outside Portland, Oregan where she began singing at church before switching to singing in bars. The move to Silver Lake was preceded by a stint in Nashville where she honed her songwriting skills.
“Haunted” is out now.
