Each week we update the playlist with the new tracks we’re playing on repeat. Here are a few of this week’s highlights…
Hinds – New For You
A very welcome return from Spanish quartet Hinds with “New For You”, the first track to drop from their second LP I Don’t Run. The track retains the frenetic energy and charm of their debut but demonstrates a lyrical and musical growth that sets the band up for the next level. The band also shared their self-directed video – probably the only football match we’ll watch this year. I Don’t Run is released on 6 April via Lucky Number.
Thea & The Wild – When A Kiss Becomes A Habit
Released via the always stellar Propeller Recordings, “When A Kiss Becomes A Habit” is your latest taste of Thea’s (Glenton Raknes) forthcoming sophomore LP Ikaros. It’s got that shimmering ‘80s tinge yet packs a lyrical punch. Beautifully bittersweet stuff from the Norwegian artist that should be on everyone’s radar.
The Code – Muse feat. Cassie
The UK’s The Code has called in the services of Cassie for silky new cut “Muse”. The second track to appear from his forthcoming Paramount mixtape, “Muse” boasts some strong, atmospheric late-night vibes. Paramount drops on 26 January.
Nakhane – Clairvoyant
Nakhane’s “Clairvoyant” is a stunning exploration of the emotional grey areas that exist when you love someone. Born in Alice and grew up in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Nakhane’s debut You Will Not Die is released 16 March via BMG. He’ll play a headline show on 20 March at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
Daniel Avery – Slow Fade
Five years after the release of Drone Logic, London-based producer Daniel Avery has shared details of his highly anticipated second album Song For Alpha. Ahead of the LP’s 6 April release, Daniel has dropped a new EP titled Slow Fade. Stream the mercurial title track below.
